Soccer Aid viewers have criticised tonight’s commentators for ‘fat-shaming’ some of the celebrities taking part in this year’s charity football match.
Once again raising funds for UNICEF, to help support disadvantaged children in more than 190 countries, Sunday’s (September 6) game handed a Soccer Aid debut to a whole new bunch of celebrities and former professional footballers, including Jason Manford, Joel Dommett, Iain Stirling, Santan Dave, Kelly Smith MBE, Patrice Evra and David James.
And while the game, as ever, was played in good spirits, ITV viewers were left feeling uncomfortable about some of the commentary.

Those watching at home took exception when veteran sports broadcaster Clive Tyldesley made a joke about actor Tom Davis’ weight, and then appeared to do the same with YouTuber Chunkz.
