Hundreds of people from around the world have been joining Cape Cod host Jonathan Thompson (JT) and deejay Angel Robinson Jr. (DJ Angel) on Facebook every Friday night for nostalgic “virtual dance parties.”
The two are into their fifth month of providing entertainment for the pandemic era, with musical trips back to the disco era, ‘80s and ‘90s complete with mirror balls and a changing array of costumes and wigs. The idea is to add some silliness and camaraderie in this time of fear, stress and isolation.
“JT and I are just trying to bring some joy,” Robinson says. “We’re going to continue until this (pandemic) is over, probably. We’re just trying to keep everybody happy on a Friday night.”
