OSCODA – Iosco County residents have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of others in their communities by volunteering as a home-delivered meal (Meals on Wheels) driver for the Iosco County Commission on Aging (ICCOA) through the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Northeast Michigan.
“Food insecurity is a serious problem in northern Michigan, especially with homebound seniors. Local agencies offer programs to help, but their success depends on volunteers willing to assist where they can,” said RSVP Coordinator Rick Houchin. “Volunteering as a home-delivered meal driver is a wonderful opportunity to truly make a difference.”
The Region 9 Area Agency on Aging and ICCOA have partnered with RSVP to help fill this need, as well as to provide enriching and fulfilling volunteer opportunities in Iosco County.
