Fair View Garden Club members have kept in touch during the pandemic.
The social distancing resulting from the coronavirus pandemic has led people everywhere to cancel meetings and programs from March through December.
The enforced isolation due to the public health crisis has been challenging as there are no rules for pandemic in the bylaws of many of the community’s civic and social organizations.
Virtual is a term Fair View Garden Club members well understand. Members have kept in touch this summer through social media, email, phone calls and, yes, handwritten notes and letters.
Club President Sarah Fleek sent members an email early on about what to expect: “We have postponed our biennial election and all officers and chairs will continue for a third term. We will miss our annual Christmas Auction whose proceeds are donated to the Fairview Community Council Needy Fund and the Pleasant Ridge Manor Residents’ Fund and be dipping into our savings account to contribute.”…
