New York state is frustrated and hurting.
With the uncertain status of a federal stimulus bill aimed at helping local and state governments, the New York State Association of Counties and the New York Congressional Delegation came together for a “Last Call to Save Local Jobs and Services” on Friday.
It was meant to call on President Donald Trump and congressional leaders to reach an agreement on a stimulus bill that includes direct, flexible aid to states and local governments. Through the hour-long media update, a single common thread kept popping up — without this stimulus bill, there will be an economic depression and the politics surrounding passing the bill need to stop now.
