High school athletes at Haslett will be returning to the pool and back on the field and court this fall.
The school district announced Tuesday morning it had reinstated football, boys soccer, girls swimming and diving and volleyball at the high school level only. The move is effective starting Wednesday.
Haslett’s decision comes five days after Governor Gretchen Whitmer released an executive order allowing for football, soccer, volleyball and swimming – sports considered moderate to high-risk for COVID-19 – to proceed. Attendance for indoor sports for Haslett will be limited to two guests per athlete, while the limit for outdoor events are two guests per athlete or 100 people or fewer.
